Onslow is a fishing paradise renowned for its exceptional fishing amongst the plethora of remote islands, atolls and magnificent clear blue waters of the nearby Mackerel and Montebello Islands.
It’s a place where you can go wild and discover winding red tracks and explore the river, mangrove and creek networks for the elusive Barra and tasty mud crab. (please be croc aware)
Onslow plays host to a number of major annual fishing tournaments such as the Mack10 fishing comp - where all you have to do is catch the biggest Mackie to win $10k.
Capped at 100 boats, this event highly regarded with people entering from across Australia.
Launch your boat at the Onslow Community boating precinct at Beadon Creek (below) which has recently undergone an upgrade now providing a new boat ramp, central holding jetty, fish cleaning and toilet facilities with ample parking.
Remember to follow the Western Australian Recreation fishing rules for the North Coast Bioregion (Pilbara/Kimberley) and ensure you have your fishing licence.
