The Mackerel and Montebello Islands are located off the coast from Onslow. Onslow is a 14 hour drive from Perth or two (2) hours flight, with flights operating into the Onslow Airport with Virgin or Qantas.

Mackerel Islands

Comprising of ten islands situated 22kms offshore from Onslow, with Thevenard Island welcoming guests. The islands offer a fishing and snorkelling paradise and a largely untouched maritime experience. An ideal family holiday setting.

Many visitors take their own boat to enjoy the islands. Thevenard Island is 45mins from Onslow and the Montebello Islands are about 3 hour boat trip.

For guests of Thevenard Island, Mackerel Islands also operate a ferry from Beadon Creek to Thevenard Island twice a week.

Thevenard Island also has airstrip access for private light planes or charter flights.

Montebello Islands

Montebello Islands are situated approximately 75 nautical miles north of Onslow, off the West Australian coast. Trips are seasonal and not available year-round. With over 100 small islands in the group, they are surrounded by magnificent coral reefs, ideal for fishing, snorkelling and swimming.

Montebello Islands are accessible by private boat.
